Regional Cloud Seeding Program Leaders
Enhancing Water Resources Through Saudi Arabia's Strategic Cloud Seeding Initiative
SAUDI ARABIA IS TAKING A MULTIDIMENSIONAL APPROACH TO EMISSIONS REDUCTION.
The Kingdom has committed to have 50% of its power generated from renewable sources by 2030. Beyond a domestic energy mix transformation, SGI is steering a range of ambitious initiatives that will reduce emissions. These include investing in new energy sources, improving energy efficiency, and developing a carbon capture and storage program. Together, these initiatives will help Saudi Arabia meet its climate goals and ensure a sustainable future.
Middle East Green Initiatives
"We are ushering in a new green era for the region in which we are collectively leading and reaping its fruits"
Inaugurated in 2021, and spearheaded by Saudi Arabia, Middle East Green Initiative exemplifies the Kingdom’s commitment to leading international sustainability efforts, in accordance with Kingdom’s VISON2030. Middle East Green Initiative provides an ambitious and clearly defined roadmap for regional climate action, ensuring a coordinated and localized response to the specific way climate change is impacting countries in the region.

We are pleased in Regional Cloud Seeding Program to provide you with the first annual report of the financial year 1443/1444 A.H. (2022) of the Program, which highlights the most significant achievements. By the Grace of Allah, during the first year since launching the Program, the Program has faced many challenges in its transition from a research project to a national program, which might have negatively affected the achievement of the Program’s national targets and regional expansion objectives.
